Menus — quick guide

The idea

You keep separate menus: Main, Sunday, Specials, Sandwiches, Desserts — the owner can also add extra menus and categories on the Dishes step.
Spelling: upload review still lists AI corrections. When you type a dish, obvious typos are suggested (and fixed on save). Generate also proof-reads the sheet — apply the changes or keep what you typed.
On Sunday, use the Sunday Roasts category (with optional description under the title, same as Sandwiches / other blocks).
Each one can be printed on its own (e.g. just Specials, or just Desserts).
On Main (or Sunday), you can also tick other menus to include on that same print sheet.

Open Menus → tap the Specials tab.
Add / adjust dishes, or Upload / paste whole menu.
Optional: edit the short note under the Specials title (e.g. “When it’s gone, it’s gone”).
Tap Next · Generate → Generate menu → Print / PDF.

Open the Main menu or Sunday tab.
On the first step (Dishes), find Also put on this sheet.
Tick Specials, Sandwiches, Desserts, Little Bells (kids), etc. as needed.
Generate as usual — ticked menus print on that sheet (kids in the Little Bells box). Generate does not drop Sandwiches because of space; the tick is the decision.
Untick anytime if you only want the host menu dishes.

Stay on the Main menu tab.
Tap Clear this menu → confirm (empties Main only; Specials / Desserts stay).
Tap Upload / paste whole menu.
Upload one or more PDF / Word / photos (multi-select), or paste the text → review the dishes → save.
Tick includes again if you want Specials / Desserts on the sheet, then Generate.

Whenever you save a menu, every dish is stored once (category, title, description, allergens, price, date) with a price history over time.
When you add or change a dish, type the name — matching past dishes appear on the right, word by word. Click one to fill the form, or keep typing for something new.
Replace shows past dishes in the same category as the slot you are replacing. Click one to fill name, description, price and allergens, or keep typing for a new dish.
On Sunday, use From this week’s Main / Specials to copy selected dishes onto Sunday without retyping.
Open All dishes to browse the full catalogue — search by name, filter by category, and expand price history with dates.
On any dish, pick a menu from the dropdown and tap Add to menu — it files into the right category automatically (e.g. Specials → Special Mains).

Generate opens a preview — Save or Discard only (no print there).
Save stamps the Roman version into Print history and takes you there straight away.
From history: Print PDF, Email (attaches a printable PDF to pub@eightbellsbolney.com — no mail app popup; Reply-To is your kinfoldinns address), or Download.

Tip: Clear and upload only affect the tab you’re on. Specials and Desserts are separate lists — clearing Main does not wipe them.
